Talawanda High School E-News - September 11, 2020

Hello, THS families. We wanted to let you know that we will have our material pickup day next Wednesday, September 16th.

• 9th grade will come at 9:00
• 10th grade will come at 10:00
• 11th grade will come at 11:00
• 12th grade will come at 12:00
• We will also have a pickup time from 5:00 to 7:00 that evening for families who are not able to make it during the day.

We will be passing out school planners, textbooks and novels for classes, yearbooks that were ordered, Jostens class ring and graduation info packages, and any other items needed for classes.  Your teachers will be telling you which classes will need to come and pick up things.  Not all classes will need to come and pick up materials.  Another call will go out on Tuesday to any family who has a student required to pick up materials so you will know for sure before Wednesday if you need to come.

We will also have a station to finish filling out Final Forms. The more we take care of before next Wednesday, the better off we will be.

Reminders:

• Mrs. Claire's art classes from last semester will be able to pick up their art on the materials pick-up day, Wednesday September 16th.  Artwork will be arranged by class, and assembled into bundles by name. Items not claimed will be thrown away/recycled unless you make other arrangements.  Thanks! :)

• All Ag students/FFA members will have something to pick up from school next Wednesday, Sept. 16th during the school pickup day. They should drive around back to the Ag Shop doors. Any packs not picked up will be sent home via USPS.

• Talawanda/Butler Tech FFA Chapter has been recognized by the National FFA Organization as a National Three Star Chapter. This is the highest level any chapter can achieve (Only about 10% of the chapters receive this level).

• The FCCLA chapter is sponsoring the Brave Cares Event again this year.  We are trying to make it as "normal" as possible! We have asked each of the teams to make baskets and you can buy your raffle tickets through venmo!  See this flyer for information about shirts and raffle baskets.

• Now you can apply on-line for your children to receive free or reduced-price school meals! Your application will be sent from a secure web site directly to the Child Nutrition office, so you don't need to worry about filling out a paper form that could be lost or misplaced. Find the links here.

• Talawanda is offering a Fall food program. Every Monday families may pick up 5 breakfasts and lunches. Find more information here.
