Talawanda High School E-News - May 15th, 2020

• This coming Tuesday, May 19, we will have an opportunity for students to come to school and pick up any contents they may have left in their academic or PE locker.

This time will also be when 9th-11th grade students need to drop off any textbooks, library books, calculators, and athletic uniforms.

Freshmen can come at 9:00

Sophomores at 10:00

Juniors at 11:00

Seniors may come at any time to collect their locker contents.

• Senior Fees will be finalized by May 19th. Seniors must pay their fees and return their graduation gown before receiving their diploma. Fees must be paid online or in cash by appointment. Checks will NOT be accepted. Pay online here.

• Be a part of graduation! Watch it here on May 21st at 7pm! 

• Don't forget to get your copy of the 2019-2020 yearbook by visiting www.jostens.com and selecting Talawanda High School from the yearbook menu. The last day to order is the 22nd of May!

• For all Jewelry/Metals classes: Please return toolboxes to the school before Tuesday, May 19th.  Drop them off by the band room door, anytime, and put tape on your box with your name on it, so that I know who has returned them.  I will leave a box there marked ART for you to put them in.

• We are looking for volunteers that like to sew!

Throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic many of you have reached out to TSD and other district officials asking how you can help!  Thank you for being amazing and caring so much for the students and families in our community!  As our school leaders plan and prepare for next school year, there are many unknowns.  We listen each day when Governor DeWine gives his press conference waiting for any insight as to what the future holds.  State and local officials have advised that we must prepare from several different possible school scenarios, including that students and school personnel might be required to wear masks to school.  Knowing that this is possible, we are launching a program that allows the community to help us in meeting our goals for the number of masks needed for every student and staff member.  Our goal is to have 2 for each person, so that while one mask is being cleaned, each person has another mask they can wear.  I have estimated that the district needs nearly 7000 masks.  Approximately 3000 youth masks, and 3800 adult masks.

We are asking our community to help us in sewing cloth masks and we will be collecting them throughout the summer at the Talawanda Board of Education.  We will begin collecting weekdays beginning May 18th between 9am-3pm. Thank you!
