School News and Information
Happy Thursday Marshall Families!
Again, thank you for all of the support you are providing to your child(ren) during this time of at home learning. We know it is not easy to manage all of the various demands that have been put on each of us during this time of staying home. Just remember we want to keep students engaged in learning and at the same time enjoy the time together as a family that we don’t always have. At our house we have certainly enjoyed the beautiful weather this week - even if it is just sitting in lawn chairs, enjoying some music, and the peacefulness around us.
Tootles - This week I read some tootles for students who were being PAX Leaders at home. I want to give you the opportunity to acknowledge how your child is being a PAX Leader at home. Complete this form and let me know the positive things they have done while at home - this a great way to encourage the behaviors you want to see more of at home. You will then receive an electronic tootle form in your email congratulating your child. Tootle Form
Thank you to those who joined us on our Marshall Facebook Page for Game Day yesterday. I think everyone had fun playing some Bingo! Be on the lookout for next week’s game day.
I also hope you have enjoyed our morning announcements. I have enjoyed creating them and seeing the kids on the flipgrid post. If you would like to have your child(ren) selected for the pledges please record a video of your child(ren) saying either pledge or both and send it to me at hintonc@talawanda.org. Depending on how many I receive, I will use as many as I can.
Pledge of Allegiance
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one Nation under God,
indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
PAX Leader Pledge
I am a Pax Leader.
I better world, I better myself.
I create more peace, productivity, health, and happiness.
I am a Pax Leader.
As a reminder the link for morning announcements will be posted on the students Abre announcement screen, our Marshall Facebook page, and Marshall Twitter account.

PAX Tools
In these trying times with families spending so much extra time at home with physical distancing, distance learning, remote work, etc. parents are strained more than ever. PAX Tools is something that can help! PAX Tools is a collection of evidence-based, trauma-informed strategies for caregivers to improve cooperation and self-regulation with children. PAX Tools draws on decades of science to create strategies that support parent/caregivers to create a nurturing environment that ultimately helps kids thrive!
Kristen Smith, Prevention Coordinator for Envision Partnerships, is a trained PAX Tools Community Educator. She will be offering a virtual format for the PAX Tools Workshop Thursday, April 16, 3:00- 4:30 pm
This FREE workshop aims to help parents/caregivers in limiting problematic behaviors and reinforcing prosocial behaviors with their children, creating a home environment that is not just surviving but thriving! Caregivers who participate in this virtual workshop will receive free materials they need to effectively use PAX Tools with children, including the free PAX Tools App
Register for this workshop by clicking on the link below. Will you also please help spread the word by sharing this blog with your friends who would benefit from more peace, productivity, health and happiness at home? A time like this really highlights how we are all in this together.

Health and Safety
For resources on addressing the coronavirus please visit:
https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/
During this time away from school please stay at home, cover your coughs using your elbow, avoid the touching of your eyes, nose and mouth, and wash your hands frequently. The purpose of this closure is to slow the spread of the virus and this can only be done if each of us takes a few extra precautions. This also means not using the school grounds as a place to gather and play - our playgrounds and schools grounds are closed. Be safe and stay healthy.
