School News and Information

Thank you to the Marshall PTG for a great Kids Night Out last Friday.  The kids had a lot of fun! Also thank you to the parents who attend Tuesday’s PTG meeting - looking forward to our fall fundraiser the Marshall Monster Mash.  More details to come.

The past two weeks we have focused our WOW (Wisdom on Wednesday) meetings on PAX skills.  Thank you to Mrs. Slattery’s class and Mrs. Lykins’ class for their leadership in running these meetings and their presentations.  To give parents some more information about PAX we have created this Parent/Student PAX Handbook.

On a personal note.  I had surgery on Monday 9/17 to remove a growth on my right vocal cord.  As part of the healing process I am not to talk for two weeks. This is the main restriction so you may see me in the building and I will more than likely smile, wave, or nod.  During this time Mr. Tom Alf will be in the building to address some of the daily needs where more verbal communication is needed. Paws for a Cause Miami!

Miami is having an event again this year called 'Hike-a-Thon' at Miami Natural Trails. It is on Saturday, September 29th from 9:00-2:00. As an organization we are currently in the midst of fundraising to get a service dog park on campus. At Hike-a-Thon we have the opportunity to get some of our fundraising money matched, but only if we walk 2,000 miles on that day!

It's a great event for everyone and there are a few local booths plus different hiking trail opportunities. We will also have the dogs there at various points throughout the day!
