KRAMER E-NEWS 4/16/21

Happy Friday!  We hope you have had a great week.  We had another great week in our face-to-face and remote classrooms.

Chromebooks & State Testing Grades 3-5

3rd through 5th-grade students will begin state and district testing starting next week.  3rd and 5th graders will start testing on Tuesday, April 20th.  The 3rd through 5th graders will be testing on different days, and information will be shared by the homeroom teacher.  Testing will finish on Friday, April 30th.  If the students did not bring their Chromebook and charging cord to school today, they need to bring those items on Monday, April 19th. We will plug devices in at school and keep them here during testing.  This will ensure that everyone has a charged device ready to go on testing days. 

It is always beneficial for students to get a good night’s rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and be reminded to take their time, read carefully, and do their very best.  Our students are prepared and we know they will do well. Students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack and water to drink for testing.   

Medication Reminder- Nurse Chelsea

Please remember not to send medication to school with your child.  This includes any over-the-counter medication (including cough drops).   You must bring the medication to school, and fill out the appropriate form from Nurse Chelsea.  If you have any questions, please contact Nurse Chelsea:

Fees

Fee invoices have been sent home with students this week.  If you have not paid school fees this year you can pay them via cash, check, or money order at the school office. Online payments can be made for School fees & Chromebook insurance through the Talawanda website via EZPay.  Remote learners can pay Chromebook insurance through EZPay.  Any questions, call the office at 513-273-3501.

Kindergarten Registration for 21-22 School Year

The Talawanda School District is currently taking calls for Kindergarten Registration for the 21-22 school year.  Please contact the elementary school for your area.  If you are unsure of which elementary school your child will attend each of our schools will help you get to the correct school.  When you call we will take down some information and then will email you a packet of information and a link to our online registration forms.  Please be sure to have an active email address.

Hotspot Collection- Mr. Rand

If your student is NOW attending school in person, but you were issued a hotspot while the district was hosting remote learning, we will begin collecting hotspots from just those students that are now face-to-face.

You may return the hotspot to your child's school, in the main office.  We will mark each student down as we receive the hotspots back.

Last 3 School Days- Early Release Dr. Theroux

As in previous years, TSD students will be released early on the last three days of school. Below is the schedule for all of the buildings.

TMS: 2:15

THS: 2:00

City of Oxford Health Needs Survey
We are trying to understand the health needs of people in the Oxford community and how those needs could be better served.  The study is being conducted by students and a faculty member at Miami University (Dr. Cameron Hay-Rollins), and the findings will be shared with the City of Oxford and all others interested in the health and well-being of our community.  If you are a permanent resident of Oxford and are above the age of 18, please complete this online survey (should take approximately 5-10 minutes).
